Dear EFAA
members,
RE: EC
consultation on control structures in audit firms –
first results
The European Commission
published a summary of the answers received to its
public consultation on control structures in audit
firms and their consequences on the audit market,
which was launched in November 2008. The first
results show that “stakeholders recognise the need
to open up the market for the audit of international
companies to more suppliers or at least to ensure
that the current market structure does not
deteriorate further.
90% of respondents believe
that the Commission should strive to reduce all
potential barriers to the entry, growth and survival
of audit firms in the international audit
market.”
Please find attached the
summary report.
The responses authorised for publication
are available at:

Kind
regards,
Marion
